We have outstanding health care. In fact, HealthGrades® ranked the Western Maryland Health System Heart Institute (www.wmhs.com) among the top 5% in the nation for Heart Surgery - the only hospital in Maryland to receive this distinction in 2006. The Western Maryland Health System is now building a brand new state-of-the-art hospital and medical facility, to be completed in 2008.

For the fourth straight year, the Western Maryland Health System (the only health system in Maryland to do so) has been named one of the Top 100 integrated health networks by Verispan. A national research firm, Varispan reviews data about the nation's 570 integrated health networks and compiles the Top 100 list annually based on each network's performance and degree of integration.
